Public policies are shaped not only by institutions and interests but also by interactions between policy construction and ideology, which define social problems, determine who is deserving, and set the boundaries of legitimate public provision. This study examines how these dynamics shape support for contested health services, asking how medicalization and social constructions of deservingness influence public attitudes. Using a survey experiment with 2,000 respondents in Canada, the analysis examines support for IVF, abortion, gender-affirming care, and HPV vaccination. Findings suggest that medicalization significantly increases perceived legitimacy for select services and support for public coverage, while constructions of deservingness mediate these effects. Policy feedback operates not only through institutional arrangements but also through how citizens perceive the boundaries of healthcare and the deservingness of recipients. The study advances research on policy feedback and health politics by showing how medicalization and social constructions shape public opinion and debates over medical necessity.

This experiment focuses on the analysis of green tea aroma using a set of gas sensors. Specifically, the gas sensors selected for this research are the TGS822, TGS2602, TGS2620, MQ138, MQ5, and MQ3. The experiment involved testing a total of 78 different tea samples (chops), with each sample being observed three times. To conduct the experiment, a tea chamber was utilized, capable of accommodating 125 grams of dry green tea. The tea chamber was connected to a sensor chamber through a hose and intake micro air pump. During data acquisition, air from the tea chamber flowed into the sensor chamber for a duration of 60 seconds. Once the airflow from the tea sample was complete, the gas sensors recorded the aroma data for 60 seconds, resulting in 60 data records. These records were then saved into a CSV file for further processing and labeling. The labeling process involved referencing the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 3945:2016, which defines the quality parameters for green tea according to ISO 11287 Green tea - definition and basic requirements. The SNI 3945:2016 standard specifies both special requirements and general requirements for green tea quality assessment. Special requirements encompass aspects such as water content, soluble ash, ash alkalinity, crude fiber, polyphenols, metal contamination, and microbial contamination. On the other hand, general requirements cover the physical and organoleptic characteristics of the tea, including dryness, steeping water, and steeping dregs. To evaluate the quality of Gambung green tea, an organoleptic test was conducted by a tea tester. The results of this test were used to label the data set obtained from the e-nose. The data set had two labels: quality standard ("good" and "quality defect") for the discrete classification task, and organoleptic score, which combined ratings for dry appearance, brew color, taste, aroma, and dregs of brewing, for the continuous regression task. In summary, this study aimed to predict the quality standard and organoleptic score of green tea samples using gas sensor data. The gas sensors were selected based on their suitability for analyzing the tea's aroma. The labeled data set, obtained through experimentation and organoleptic testing, would serve as the basis for training models for classification and regression tasks.

This dataset contains 5,625 finite element simulation records generated using COMSOL Multiphysics 6.3 (RF Module, Electromagnetic Waves Frequency Domain interface) for a modified microstrip patch antenna (MPA) sensor designed for non-invasive electrolyte monitoring from sweat at 2.4 GHz. The sensor incorporates a circular analyte well and 45-degree chamfered stubs to enhance dielectric sensitivity. Simulations were conducted across three substrate materials (Rogers RO4003C, FR4, and Cellulose Paper/Whatman Grade 3) and five physiologically relevant NaCl concentrations (20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 mmol/L). Each record corresponds to a unique combination of five geometric and electrolyte input parameters: patch width (WP), patch length (LP), analyte well diameter (d_well), feed inset offset (xf), and NaCl concentration (c), sampled on a systematic grid of 5 x 5 x 5 x 3 levels per substrate and 5 concentration levels, yielding 1,875 records per substrate. The two output (target) variables per record are the minimum reflection coefficient (S11_min, in dB) and the resonant frequency at the S11 minimum (fr, in GHz), both extracted from the Asymptotic Waveform Evaluation (AWE) frequency sweep. The permittivity of the NaCl analyte complex at each concentration is modeled using the Cole-Cole dispersion parameters established by Peyman, Gabriel, and Grant (Bioelectromagnetics, 2007). The dataset was used to train and validate three machine learning regression models — Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), Support Vector Regression (SVR), and Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) — for surrogate-based optimization of sensor dimensions. XGBoost achieved the lowest prediction error: S11 RMSE of 0.81-1.14 dB and concentration RMSE of 1.31-1.82 mmol/L across the three substrates. The dataset is provided as a structured Excel workbook (XLSX) containing the full 5,625-record dataset, per-substrate subsets, summary statistics, a stratified 80/20 train-test split, XGBoost feature importance results, and model performance comparisons. The research targets clinical patient populations where continuous sweat electrolyte monitoring is medically significant, including palmar hyperhidrosis, chronic kidney disease (hemodialysis patients), motor paralysis, and congestive heart failure.

It is not known what factors influence Latin American students´ choice of the National University of La Matanza, as a house of Higher Education, in order to carry out their Higher Education career, as well as, it is also unknown whether the different university policies channel their needs. The aim of this research was to quantitatively highlight the evolution of the number of Latin American students enrolled in undergraduate programs at the UNLaM, in the period 2000-2020, as well as to establish the factors that determined the choice of the university, examining the existing agreements in Latin America, that affect the field of Higher Education and promote academic mobility. The methodological approach is based on quantitative and documentary analysis, using as an instrument, a survey carried out on the population of active Latin American students at UNLaM. As a result, it has been identified that the integration processes in Latin America have mostly included education in the scope of their agreements, but the depth of this issue is still scarce. In addition, at UNLaM, there has been an increase in the number of Latin American students among its student body, mainly of Brazilian origin, who opt to pursue careers belonging to the Department of Health Sciences, particularly in Medicine

During the last few decades, business philosophy has shifted from marketing orientation to Relationship Marketing Orientation (RMO). Service oriented organizations, such as banks, increasingly apply RMO to enhance their brand management practices, such as brand loyalty and brand image. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of relationship marketing orientation and its dimensions (trust, bonding, communication, shared values, empathy and reciprocity) on the Brand Equity in Saderat Bank. Data were collected from 339 customers across various branches of Saderat Bank in Ardabil, Iran. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were used to analyze the measurements and relationships among the variables. The findings of this study demonstrate that RMO has a positive effect on the brand equity of Saderat Bank. Specifically, dimensions including trust, bonding, empathy, and reciprocity have direct and significant effects on brand equity, with the effect of trust being significantly higher. However, communication and shared values showed no significant effects on brand equity. The findings of this study offer practical applications for enhancing the brand equity of banks and other financial institutions, particularly Islamic banks, by exploring the cultural variation of relationship marketing.

Female animals often have ornaments such as conspicuous coloration. However, the evolution of female ornamentation and its contribution to sexual dimorphism are understudied relative to male ornamentation. We addressed this knowledge gap by investigating plumage ornamentation of Tyranni (Suboscines) in relation to sociosexual selection, the differential reproductive success resulting from competition for mates and other socially limited resources (e.g., territories, nest sites). We hypothesized that greater ornamentation is associated with stronger sociosexual selection in females and males, and that sexual dichromatism emerges when selection pressures differ between sexes. We tested associations of ornamentation and sexual dichromatism with territoriality, mating system, parental care, nest type, migratory behavior, and climatic seasonality. We found that females and males show similarly high ornamentation (elaborate monochromatism) in accordance with strong and shared sociosexual selection pressures, for instance in territorial, non-migratory, monogamous species with biparental care, and species nesting in cavities. In contrast, males show higher ornamentation than females in migratory and polygynous species with female-only parental care and in more seasonal climates, and females show higher ornamentation than males in species with long term pair bonds and in territorial non-migratory species living in closed habitats. Our findings suggest that when the sexes share sociosexual selection pressures, they show similar ornamentation, whether elaborate or inconspicuous. Conversely, sexual dimorphism is greater when males face stronger sociosexual selection pressures than females. Our study provides a framework for testing how sociosexual selection shapes female traits, which is key to understanding the evolution of sex differences and similarities.

How do citizens in authoritarian regimes respond when state promises go unfulfilled? In many such regimes, leaders enact pro-labor legislation to signal responsiveness, yet actual enforcement often remains weak. This research note provides the first experimental evidence regarding how enforcement gaps in pro-labor legislation shape mass political attitudes under authoritarian rule. Drawing on a preregistered survey experiment in China, I show that the absence of enforcement significantly erodes political support: unmet expectations surrounding labor rights produce a measurable decline in trust in government. Partial enforcement, in contrast, generates markedly less negative public reactions—an effect that appears to operate through citizens’ perceptions of its material benefits. A follow-up study incorporating a list experiment to detect preference falsification replicates the core findings. By examining mass reactions to varying levels of labor rights enforcement in authoritarian contexts, this study advances our understanding of authoritarian legitimation strategies and clarifies the conditions under which cooptation can sustain public support.

The sustainable intensification of cattle production in the tropics is critical to meet the rising demand for animal-sourced food while mitigating environmental degradation. This study evaluates the adoption and multi-dimensional impacts of interspecific Urochloa (syn. Brachiaria) hybrids across 27 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean between 2001 and 2024. Drawing on seed sales data, national statistics, literature, and Monte Carlo simulations, we estimate that over 1.17 million farmers adopted these hybrids on 1.72 million hectares, benefiting ~8 million people through direct and indirect effects. Socially, adoption was driven largely by smallholders (67%) and generated substantial rural employment. Economically, hybrid use is projected to yield US$50-67 billion in forage value by 2033. Environmentally, scenario-based estimates suggest that adoption could contribute to reductions in greenhouse gas emissions of 1.9-4.5 megatons of CO2 equivalent (CO2-eq) and spare up to 1.4-3.3 million hectares of land, particularly when integrated into silvopastoral systems. Despite these benefits, adoption remains limited relative to total grassland, constrained by seed system inefficiencies, knowledge gaps, and policy barriers. The study highlights the potential of Urochloa hybrids to transform tropical livestock systems, aligning productivity with climate goals, and recommends investments in seed access, inclusive finance, extension services, and supportive policies to scale adoption.

In this study, we tested whether odonate assemblages were more similar in closely located ponds than in more distant ponds, and whether ecological variables predicted pond assemblage structure. To evaluate this question, we collected odonates in both the adult and nymph stages at 16 ponds clustered in four groups in Ocala National Forest in summer of 2021 and 2023. We collected adults with aerial nets and nymphs with dipnets.
